COMPATIBILITY
Please note that PVC is not chemically compatible for direct welding with the hydrolysis-protected zipper. Therefore, PVC must be glued to the hydrolysis-protected zipper material or, alternatively, used with an intermediate TPU layer.
For several decades, TIZIP has been committed to the enhancement of the durability and performance of TPU-coated waterproof zippers, with a particular focus on their aging behavior.
Extensive analysis has revealed that the aging of TPU coatings – characterized by swelling, cracking or delamination – is primarily caused by hydrolytic degradation due to environmental factors such as moisture, temperature fluctuations and microbial exposure. While careful handling can help to reduce these effects, TIZIP has now developed an optimized TPU formula in combination with an advanced production process that effectively prevents the typical aging-related issues of TPU-coated zippers, ensuring long-term durability and reliability.
Especially in the watersports sector, where waterproof zippers are exposed to constant moisture, the new hydrolysis protection represents a significant advantage compared to short-lived products with conventional material.
Discover the great opportunities and outstanding advantages of TIZIP’s hydrolysis protected zipper, how it fits and significantly extends the lifespan of your next waterproof or airtight project.

On May-01 2024, the new “hydrolysis protection feature” has been launched to all MasterSeal #10 versions that are included in the standard zipper program.
For MasterSeal #10 zippers not included in the standard program and for SuperSeal zippers, the “hydrolysis protection” can be selected as an option.
Shortly, TIZIP will also launch the “hydrolysis protection feature” as an option for the MasterSeal #6 and WaterSeal zipper.
